Itou Sensei asked Yuko to confirm when my birthday is!
Oh no! Birthday keiko!! Actually, I’m looking forward to it a little bit. I
like to push myself a little further than usual on my birthday in my budo, to
celebrate. In kyudo, I try to shoot the number of arrows equal to how old I am.
My birthday falls between holidays this year, so the
dojo will be closed after my birthday, unfortunately. Still, it’s a nice
gesture to be asked. More and more I feel like a part of this club.
Practice went better than expected today. After my
grueling summer school schedule and being unable to practice for a couple
weeks, I was expecting to be sluggish and rusty. The heat is still doing its
damage, but it’s slowly cooling down. My technique hasn’t suffered all that
much, which is always a huge concern after taking a break, even a short one. My
stamina, however, has suffered quite a bit. I’m going to need to step up my
morning training routine to include more faced paced cardio. Hopefully once the
heat dies down a little more things will be a little easier too.
